Designed for healthcare professionals in a managerial position, our health leadership programme will develop your understanding and skillset while establishing robust and effective management practices suitable for any healthcare environment, from a small practice to larger clinical environment.

This programme focuses on helping healthcare leaders understand the techniques needed to introduce robust management practices that drive improved healthcare standards. You will gain a thorough understanding of managerial approaches and cover topics in ethics, social care, data science and information processing.

You will study core modules on effective leadership, financial management, healthcare innovation and management theories. The programme will help you develop advanced knowledge of organisational strategy and the changing external environment in which they operate.

Course structure

This programme consists of the following modules. You are required to complete 180 credits to achieve a full Master of Science, 120 credits to achieve the postgraduate diploma (PG Dip), 60 credits to achieve the postgraduate certificate (PG Cert) and 30 credits to achieve the postgraduate award (PG Award).

Entry Requirements

Applicants should possess either:

  • A minimum of a 2:1 class degree in a relevant subject area, equivalent to a UK bachelor’s degree, coupled with two years' relevant professional experience in a healthcare related setting; or
  • Professional work experience in other settings and/or other prior qualifications will be considered on a case-by-case basis.

All applicants must have reached a minimum required standard of English language and are required to provide evidence of this.


Fees and funding

The tuition fee for the MSc Healthcare Leadership is £18,000* (2020/2021 academic year).

However, we are currently offering a scholarship of 15%, reducing the fee to

This fee is fully inclusive of all costs, including all teaching materials, core textbooks, assessments and resits.

Students living in England may be eligible for a postgraduate loan to cover some of the costs of your degree.

If you are not eligible for a student loan, we offer a simple monthly payment plan to spread the cost of your tuition over the duration of your studies. If you choose to pay the full tuition fee upfront, you will receive a 5% discount.

*All tuition fees shown are net of any applicable sales tax payable by you in your country of residence. Where we are required to add sales tax at the local statutory rate, this will be added to the tuition fees shown and confirmed during the payment process.
