Academic Practice (PGCAP)
The Postgraduate Certificate in Academic Practice (PGCAP) is designed for applicants with limited or no experience teaching or supporting learning in higher education. Through this programme, students will develop their academic practice and build employability skills to enhance their teaching careers in higher education in the UK and around the world.
The programme will support you to develop the knowledge, skills, expertise, and values necessary to sustain effective academic practice and support student learning in higher education. Through the online learning environment, you will become part of a bigger community which will enable you to engage with global perspectives.
Active learning plays a fundamental part in the programme structure. You will have opportunities to demonstrate your understanding of educational concepts and barriers to learning, and your ability to apply pedagogical theory from varied global perspectives to the classroom.
Optional modules will allow you to tailor the final part of the programme, with a focus on either enhancing academic practice or developing your career, both within a global HE context.
