The University of Liverpool stood out to me not only for its strong global reputation, but also for the flexibility of its online programmes.

Tell us a little bit about yourself
My name is Claudel, and I am a recent International Human Resource Management MSc graduate. I have over a decade of experience in HR, spanning the entire employment lifecycle. Currently, I serve as Corporate Compensation Manager for a global cruise line in Miami, where I support business leaders and team members worldwide.
Why did you choose to study the programme?
My decision to pursue this online programme stemmed from a deep passion for HR management as well as a desire to strengthen both my expertise and academic foundation. The University of Liverpool stood out to me not only for its strong global reputation, but also for the flexibility of its online and part-time degrees — an essential factor as a parent and full-time worker. Most importantly, the programme’s global perspective aligned perfectly with my career aspirations.
What did you enjoy the most about the programme?
I appreciated the rich diversity of the learning environment. I had the opportunity to engage with professors from varied backgrounds and collaborate with students from across the globe. This exchange of perspectives significantly enhanced my experience and broadened my outlook. The programme itself was both rigorous and rewarding, and I was continually impressed by the dedication of the student support team.
What advice would you give to prospective students thinking of studying management online?
My advice is to take full advantage of the interactive aspects of the programme, as well as be proactive and engage consistently with your peers. The online format provides great flexibility, but it also demands discipline and strong time management skills.
What are your plans for the future?
Looking ahead, I plan to apply the knowledge and skills gained to further advance my HR career. I feel better equipped to manage global HR strategies that respect local labour laws, regulations, and cultural nuances. I am excited about the opportunities ahead and feel confident in my ability to navigate the evolving challenges of this dynamic field.
