In addition to the general route, there are three options to choose from. Designed with professional development needs in mind, each route equips your employees with the expertise to put public health principles into effect in a variety of settings including research, practice and policy.

General Route: 
Develop a critical understanding of current and emerging global public health challenges, and explore solutions to improve the health of communities and reduce health inequalities.

Global Mental Health Route: 
Deepen your knowledge of the key issues impacting global mental health and the contributors that underpin global mental health inequalities.

International Public Health Route: 
Discover how public health differs across the globe, including programme and policy challenges in low-income countries.

Management of Health Systems Route: 
Evaluate governmental and market healthcare activities and the behaviour of consumers and organisations. Use economic evaluation and leadership strategies to enhance public health provision.

If your organisation is looking to invest in the future skills of three or more employees, you may be eligible to join our corporate partner list. Becoming a corporate partner entitles you and your employees a 10% tuition fee discount, subject to programme choice and level of study.

Career prospects

This programme has been designed with the professional development needs in mind of a wide range of health practitioners – from those interested in improving the health and well-being within communities, to individuals working for NGOs in developing countries, or in developed countries – to help them progress to the next stage of their career ladder. 

You will be equipped with the expertise to put public health principles into effect in a variety of settings including research, practice and policy. This could open up senior roles for you in public health research and practice within a range of sectors, such as health organisations, governmental organisations, charities and NGOs. 

Our students work for a range of national and international organisations including Action Against Hunger, International Rescue Committee, Medecins Sans Frontiers, Partners in Health and UNICEF.
