Tell us a little about yourself
My professional experience includes working with mid-sized companies, startups, and large organisations in industries such as banking, automotive, and network engineering. Previously, I have held various roles as a consultant specialising in SIEM technology and I currently work as an SOC Analyst in a security operations centre.
I hold a Bachelor of Engineering in Electrical Engineering from Aachen University of Applied Sciences and have multiple certifications in SIEM products, such as Splunk and Cribl. Originally from Tunisia, I have a passion for good food and pleasant weather. In my free time, I enjoy sports and reading.
Why did you choose to study online with the University of Liverpool?
I chose to study the Information Systems Management MSc online with the University of Liverpool to deepen my understanding of technology and management. This programme equips students with the knowledge and skills needed to excel as a manager or academic in an information systems environment. What are you enjoying about studying online with the University of Liverpool?
I appreciate the ease of access to the learning materials. The flexible virtual learning environment allows me to seamlessly balance my studies with other commitments. The diversity of the material helps to keep the learning experience engaging and comprehensive.
Do you have a favourite module on the MSc Information Systems Management programme?
While I don’t have a clear favourite module, I find the cyber security-related modules, risk management, and the optional cryptography module to be the most interesting.
What advice would you give to prospective students considering online study?
I would advise those considering online study to make sure they allocate enough time for the tasks, as this will help them stay on track and manage their workload effectively. Assessing your learning style is important because online learning requires self-discipline and motivation, but it can be very rewarding. Thoroughly researching programmes to ensure they meet your academic and career goals is crucial, as finding the right fit can greatly enhance your learning experience.
Finally, what are your career aspirations for the future?
My aspirations for the future include expanding my professional network and accelerating my career. I hope to become an effective manager or academic in an international, information systems environment, where I can leverage my skills and knowledge to make a significant impact.
