Tell us a little about yourself
I am a Mauritian national currently working as an IT lecturer on a part-time basis. I completed my undergraduate degree via the British Computer Society’s Higher Education Qualifications Professional Graduate Diploma in IT. Previously, I worked as an IT support officer for around two years and as a software developer for six months.
Why did you choose to study your programme?
The main reason behind my decision to pursue the Artificial Intelligence MSc is my intention to resume my career on a full-time basis as a software developer, and eventually specialise in Artificial Intelligence development. AI has not only been a passionate subject for me but an equally interesting one, based on the ever-evolving developments in the field of Artificial Intelligence. The content of the programme fitted with my academic and professional goals.
Why did you decide to study online with the University of Liverpool?
The reason for me being inclined towards online studies is mainly the flexibility it provides in terms of the possibility of studying and working on a full-time basis simultaneously. The various facilities provided for online studies – such as the availability of resources and study materials, e-library, student support and discussion forums, along with a global connection which can lead to alluring job opportunities – rendered my idea of studying at the University of Liverpool a thrilling and enriching one.
What has your experience of the programme been like?
While it may have initially taken some effort to adapt to the expectations of the curriculum, I am of the opinion that the workload of the course is as per the expectations for a part-time programme. The module content has been enriching and interesting. The learning platform is interactive, resourceful and easy to navigate through. Interactions and communications with peers, lecturers and the student support team have been frequent and endowing.
What are you looking forward to most on your programme?
Applying the knowledge obtained from the course content in my professional career is one of the main goals I am anticipating. In addition to this, I look forward to learning about the technicalities of the subject in-depth in the upcoming modules, including the practical implementation of these topics.
