This programme will give you the skills needed to develop, design and evaluate intelligent systems for a wide range of purposes. As the use of artificial intelligence (AI) becomes increasingly widespread within all industries, those with knowledge of how these systems operate, and how to optimise them, have become increasingly desirable to employers.

With core modules focusing on topics such as machine learning in practice, deep learning and natural language processing, this programme will allow you to develop practical skills and programming techniques that will assist you when working within this complex field.

Course structure

This programme consists of the following modules. You are required to complete 180 credits to achieve a full Master of Science, 120 credits to achieve the postgraduate diploma (PG Dip), and 60 to achieve the postgraduate certificate (PG Cert).

Entry requirements

Applicants should possess either:

  • A degree in computer science or a closely related subject, equivalent to a UK bachelor’s degree, coupled with two years relevant IT professional experience; or
  • Professional work experience in IT or related field, and/or other prior qualifications, which will be considered on a case-by-case basis.

All applicants must have reached a minimum required standard of English language and are required to provide evidence of this.

 

Fees and funding

The tuition fee for the MSc Artificial Intelligence is £18,000* (2020/2021 academic year).

However, we are currently offering a scholarship of 15%, reducing the fee to
£15,300
. For more details, please speak to our admissions team.

This fee is fully inclusive of all costs, including all teaching materials, core textbooks, assessments and resits.

Students living in England may be eligible for a postgraduate loan to cover some of the costs of your degree.

If you are not eligible for a student loan, we offer a simple monthly payment plan to spread the cost of your tuition over the duration of your studies. If you choose to pay the full tuition fee upfront, you will receive a 5% discount.

*All tuition fees shown are net of any applicable sales tax payable by you in your country of residence. Where we are required to add sales tax at the local statutory rate, this will be added to the tuition fees shown and confirmed during the payment process.

This programme can lead to a wide range of careers in IT, particularly with respect to the design and development of intelligent systems. Job roles may include data scientist, AI developer, AI consultant, machine learning engineer, research scientist and information strategy manager.
